Library Services
Everything we do for you, inside the library or out
Youth and Teen Services
The library will maintain separate collections of books and other materials for children and for young adults.
Story hours, stimulating displays, visual aids, and library instruction will be provided in an environment conductive to learning. We have programs such as Babygarten, Storytime, and Teen Time, where you can bring your kids to enjoy an assortment of activities and to make new friends!
Notary Services
A notary is appointed by the state. Their job is to serve as a witness, and they certify the signing of important documents. At Dawson County Library, we offer notary services. Since our service is free, we are limited to what we can and cannot notarize.
Things we are unable to notarize include:
- Land deeds
- Vehicles
- Temporary guardianship
- Hand written documents
- Immunization denials
- Living will
Reference Assistance
You can call or visit us at the Dawson County Public Library for assistance in helping you find materials, using the library catalog, and providing answers to questions you may have pertaining to the library and the services we offer.
The Library's Collection
The purpose of the Dawson County Public Library materials collection is to provide resources to assist individuals in their pursuit of educational objectives, intellectual and emotional growth, the enjoyment of leisure time and practical solutions to daily problems.
Community Spaces in the Library
Here at the library we have community spaces such as the meeting room, the teen space, the storytime room, and various spaces surrounding the main part of the library that can be used by the public. These spaces are great for those who need a quiet place for studying, tutoring, and even online work. We have computers that are free to the public and can be used at any time. We try to keep these spaces clean and encourage patrons to respect the area and those surrounding the library as well.
