How to get involved!
Volunteering
If you're interested in volunteering at the Dawson County Library, all you need to do is call the library to get information on upcoming events and time slots that are available. Volunteering is a great way to get community service hours, NHS hours and to get involved in the community. Volunteers are always needed and greatly appreciated!
Friends of the Library
Mission: To provide support for the Dawson County Public Library, encourages literacy, and present programs of interest to the public.
History: The Friends of the Dawson County Public Library was organized in 2008 and incorporated exclusively for charitable, literary, and educational purposes. The FOL has been designated as a nonprofit, 501(3)(c). Specifically, the Friends of the library provides financial assistance to the presents educational programs of interest to the community.
How to join: Becoming a friend is easy... membership is open to anyone interested in actively supporting the Dawson County Public Library through volunteer efforts.
- Applications may be picked up and dues may be paid at the Library.
- Dues to be paid yearly at annual meeting.
- All members of the Friends group will meet once a year.
- Friends board of directors will meet 4 times a year, from 5-6pm on the 1st Thursday of October, January, April and July. meetings will be held in the Library Meeting Room on the west side of the building. Special meetings can be called for events.
Donate: Contributions and donations to the library should be made payable directly to the Friends of the Library. Gifts and donations may also be directed to the library as memorials or in honor of friends, family and other loved ones.
